Media Player Classic – Home Cinema - это специальная модификация медиаплеера Media Player Classic,
предназначенная для использования совместно с домашними кинотеатрами. Данный проект базируется на оригинальном "Media Player Classic" автором
которого является не безизвестный Gabest, но который по ряду причин остановил дальнейшую разработку данного проекта.
Вот несколько нововведений отличающих новый релиз от базового:

VirtualDub - программа для захвата и обработки видео. Полнофункциональный и
быстрый пакет для работы с видео. По возможностям превосходит многие коммерческие продукты. Есть встроенный Motion-JPEG,
MPEG-1 декодер, допускается преобразование MPEG-1 в 24-bit AVI и многое другое. Поддерживается работа с большими файлами.
В этот раз автор исправил очередные ошибки в стабильной версии и предствил на суд тестеров версию 1.8.0 со статусом experimental.

Apple today issued security updates to its QuickTime 7.3.1 software (Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Windows) for Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther, 10.4.9 Tiger,

Viewing a maliciously crafted RTSP movie may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution Description: A buffer overflow exists in QuickTime's handling of Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) headers. By enticing a user to view a maliciously crafted RTSP movie, an attacker may cause an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue by ensuring that the destination buffer is sized to contain the data. This issue affects Mac OS X 10.3.9, Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later, Mac OS X 10.5 or later, and Windows Vista/XP SP2.
Viewing a maliciously crafted QTL file may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution Description: A heap buffer overflow exists in QuickTime's handling of QTL files. By enticing a user to view a maliciously crafted QTL file, an attacker may cause an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue through improved bounds checking. This issue affects Mac OS X 10.3.9, Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later, Mac OS X 10.5 or later, and Windows Vista/XP SP2
Multiple vulnerabilities in QuickTime's Flash media handler Description: Multiple vulnerabilities exist in QuickTime's Flash media handler, the most serious of which may lead to arbitrary code execution. With this update, the Flash media handler in QuickTime is disabled except for a limited number of existing QuickTime movies that are known to be safe. Credit to Tom Ferris of Adobe Secure Software Engineering Team (ASSET), Mike Price of McAfee Avert Labs, and security researchers Lionel d'Hauenens & Brian Mariani of Syseclabs for reporting this issue. Permanent Issues:
Core
- XviD streams prior to build0000 (ie up to and including 0.9 stable series) with non-multiples of 16 are not MPEG-4 compliant and exhibit occasional glitches. There is no work-around
- NVops (not coded PVops) can be used to more efficiently represent dropped frames or frames which are identical to the previous frame. NVops are not correctly handled by the QuickTime MPEG-4 Stream hinter and will cause a -5402 error when attempting to hint a file which contains NVops. The solution is to not use NVop coding. The 3ivx DirectShow Media Muxer can be used to remove NVops from an already coded bitstream. (This is currently still an issue with QT6.5)
QT Codec
- QuickTime 7's native datarate setting is now in kilobits/sec. There are 1000 bits in a kilobit, and 1024 bytes in a kilobyte, according to the
QuickTime Player. Due to a work-around for an error in QT7's kilobit->byte conversion, third party applications which do not use the QT7 codec
selection dialog to obtain a datarate from the user (in kilobits/sec) may end up undershooting by a factor 1.024 (roughly 2.5%). In order to
correct for this multiply the datarate you enter into affected applications by 1.024. This is only an issue when using QT7
Win QT Codec
- When one movie has two or more video tracks, each encoded with 3ivx there may be problems playing the video when DirectDraw Acceleration
is enabled in the QuickTime settings control panel. Work-arounds, disable DirectDraw acceleration, or DirectDraw
- Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0.2 crashes when loading the 3ivx QT Codec. There is a work-around available, simply rename the CompilerQuicktime.prm'
file to 'zCompilerQuicktime.prm'. The file is located at 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0\Plug-ins\en_US\"
DS Splitter
- Windows Media Player 11 does not allow seeking when opening mov or mp4 files from within a library. The Solution is to open these files directly

RadGameTools anonsed new version of video coding program
Bink Video v1.9b
Bink is a hybrid block-transform and wavelet codec that can encode your video using 16 different compression techniques (wavelet, DCT, motion
compensation, a variety of vector quantizers, Smacker-style, etc). With all of these techniques in one codec, Bink can handle any type of video.
Bink also has a VBR psycho-acoustic based audio codec that is capable of 8:1 up to 20:1 perceptually lossless compression, so your audio will sound
as good as your video looks. Other video codecs force you to license a separate audio encoder, but Bink has one built right in!
Another nice feature of Bink is that it's technology was completely independently developed. We are not based on any MPEG or other
committee standards (our techniques are quite different, in fact) of any kind, so the IP is safe, encumbrance-free, and (best of all)
entirely royalty free. That's why we develop our own codecs (both video and audio) - we don't want to be hindered by any third parties
who see games as a side market rather than the target market. RAD has been developing video codecs for games since 1992 - our software
codecs were being used before MPEG could even be played on a PC without a hardware decoder card.
The other big reason that we develop our own codec technology is because general video codecs are just not designed for games. They are designed
to play movies in a nice little media player sandbox on a PC with little else going on. They use a ton of memory (Bink uses up to 16 MB less than
other codecs), and they use almost all of the CPU. Bink is designed just for games - we aren't trying to be a media player for the masses, or get
integrated into some set top box, or stream video off the internet. Our only goal is great looking, easy to use, high performance video for your
games.
Changes from version 1.9a to 1.9b
- Added pre-written SPURS task and RAW support libraries for the PS3 SPU asynchronous decompressor
- On SPURS, allow the audio codec to be swapped out to make more room when decompressing 1080p movies
- Wrote SIMD SPU audio decoder routines (which lowered the audio decompression time on the SPU by 25%)
- Preload a little more data on the SPU routines to get better overlap (which allowed me to shrink the overall memory footprint a bit)
- Switched a bunch of temporary buffers to the stack with alloca on Windows, Xbox 360, PS3 and SPU. This usually lets us load higher resolution movies in tight memory situations
- Return from BinkNextFrame and BinkGoto if there is an asynchronous decompression already in progress
- Fixed an IO buffer problem on the Wii, that would cause very small Binks to fail to load
- In the RAD Video Tools, try using our built-in file readers for TIFF and JPEG before trying QuickTime - this is much faster
- Improved the Xbox 360 mix bin support code, so that you can modify the speaker mix during playback
- Switched to the November Xbox 360 SDK
- Fixed a bug where ancient Bink files (created before January 2000) would play incorrectly on multi-CPU boxes
- Fixed a filename length overrun when creating Bink files in very deep file paths

A new attempt to provide a higher-end sequel to the ubiquitous JPEG image standard is officially under way.
The multiple countries participating in the Joint Photographic Experts Group, which created the JPEG standard, have approved an effort to
make Microsoft's HD Photo format a standard called JPEG XR, said Bill Crow, who has led Microsoft's HD Photo effort and who just took over
the company's Microsoft Live Labs Seadragon imaging project. XR stands for "extended range," a reference to the format's ability to show a
wider and finer range of tonal gradations and a richer color palette.
"The country vote is done, and it passed," Crow said. "That means the International JPEG committee has decided to go ahead and create the
standard. Now it's just a process of doing that work," a process that will begin later this month in a meeting in Kobe, Japan.
The move is an important step in the transformation of the photo format from an in-house technology called Windows Media Photo to a neutral
format more likely to be palatable to companies that don't want to be beholden to Microsoft.
However, the move also means that Microsoft will have to be more patient with its hopes to get HD Photo to catch on more broadly.
Standardization "typically takes around a year," Crow said.
The wait is worth it, said Josh Weisberg, director of digital imaging evangelism for Microsoft's Rich Media Group.
"As much as I would love to have more support for it, I think it's logical for people to wait for there to be a standardized version of it,"
he said. "If we weren't going through the standardization process, we'd be pushing much harder for people to support it."
In Microsoft's view, HD Photo also offers better compression and support for in-camera image processing. It's built into Windows Vista, but
Microsoft offers the software development kit to implement the technology free and with no royalty constraints. Image-editing powerhouse
Adobe Systems has voiced support for the format.

YUVsoft's Lossless Video Codec (YULS) was designed to achieve
maximum compression. Currently it provides the best compression ratio among all known lossless video codecs. It is confirmed by an extensive
comparison using a representative test set.
This codec works with RGB24, YV12 and YUY2 color formats and uses the Video for Windows (VfW) application interface. YULS can be used with
VirtualDub and other programs supporting VfW codecs. Due to high complexity, the codec is not suitable for video capture or non-linear editing.
The codec is FREE for non-commercial use.
In version 1.0.3:
- Compression ratio for video streams with fast motion were improved by up to 5% at the expense of encoding speed

Bink Video v1.9a
Bink is a hybrid block-transform and wavelet codec that can encode your video using 16 different compression techniques (wavelet, DCT, motion
compensation, a variety of vector quantizers, Smacker-style, etc). With all of these techniques in one codec, Bink can handle any type of video.
Bink also has a VBR psycho-acoustic based audio codec that is capable of 8:1 up to 20:1 perceptually lossless compression, so your audio will sound
as good as your video looks. Other video codecs force you to license a separate audio encoder, but Bink has one built right in!
Another nice feature of Bink is that it's technology was completely independently developed. We are not based on any MPEG or other
committee standards (our techniques are quite different, in fact) of any kind, so the IP is safe, encumbrance-free, and (best of all)
entirely royalty free. That's why we develop our own codecs (both video and audio) - we don't want to be hindered by any third parties
who see games as a side market rather than the target market. RAD has been developing video codecs for games since 1992 - our software
codecs were being used before MPEG could even be played on a PC without a hardware decoder card.
The other big reason that we develop our own codec technology is because general video codecs are just not designed for games. They are designed
to play movies in a nice little media player sandbox on a PC with little else going on. They use a ton of memory (Bink uses up to 16 MB less than
other codecs), and they use almost all of the CPU. Bink is designed just for games - we aren't trying to be a media player for the masses, or get
integrated into some set top box, or stream video off the internet. Our only goal is great looking, easy to use, high performance video for your
games.
Changes from version 1.8x to 1.9a
- The big asynchronous decompression release! Bink now supports built-in background decompression on Windows, Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 (using SPUs). All of this is done super cleanly, it requires very few code changes, and you don't have to do any direct multi-threaded coding at all
- Added SPU decompression support on the PS3 - Bink now takes no PPU time at all! You can play up to ten 1280x720 on the six SPUs at the same time, or up to 36 640x480 movies simultaneously! The PS3 is really fast when you can harness the SPUs
- Added support for background decompression on Windows. All games should use threaded decompression now - it is faster even on single core CPUs (because the blitting takes place concurrently with decompression). The standalone Bink Player has also been threaded
- Dropped the requirement to do a Sync_Bink_textures on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. We now do the cache flush ourselves in the codec (which is faster)
- Added some clean-up code to the Draw_Bink_textures function on Wii, so that the GX API isn't left in such a weird state
- Added a FrameChangePercent field to the Bink structure, so you don't have to calculate it with the BinkGetRects function
- Added some optimizations on Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows 64. Cartoon style videos are up to 15% faster
- Added support for background decompression on the Xbox 360
- Fixed the sound sync on PSP after resuming from a paused state
- In creating the SPU version, cut the library code/static data size by about 20K on all platforms
- Put more runtime temporary data on the stack - this saved about 26K of data previously allocated in BinkOpen
- No longer allocate the delta mask plane unless you call BinkGetRects or BinkCopyToBuffer - otherwise we save another 8K or so
- Added the total video time in the file info window
- Show the video name in the Bink Player window
- Added support for Miles 7.1b
- Switched to the August Xbox 360 SDK

Changes from version 1.8x to 1.9a
- Fixed a problem in the Bink file header validation where partially compressed Bink files would be seen as corrupted. This meant you couldn't preview Bink files while they were still compressing in the front-end tool
- Added more bulletproofing to the audio frame reader to handle additional corrupted input Bink files
- Switched to the 1.90 PS3 SDK, and built with GCC 4.11. The new GCC is terrific - it sped up decompression on the PS3 by 10%
- In the Bink compression tool, added an option to apply the alpha pre-multiplication before compressing. Pre-multiplied alpha gives better quality, it filters better, and it's faster - everyone should use it. Also, added an option to use pre-multiplied alpha during filtering (like resizing) and then convert back before compression
- Updated the examples on all of the platforms to allow you to specify whether you used pre-multiplied alpha
- Updated the PS3 GCM example to included a simple manager for mapped memory
- On Xbox 360 and PS3, rewrote the pixel shaders to be more efficient (although the GPUs are so fast on these platforms that it doesn't matter much)
- On Windows, rewrote the 2.0 pixel shaders to be more efficient, and added an optional pixel shader 1.1 path to run on older DX8-class hardware
- On Wii, changed the example code to take into account as much information about the Wii texture iterators as is public to minimize resampling errors when scaling a Bink video texture. It's always best to try to play the movies at 1 to 1, though, since it seems impossible to remove all possible scaled sampling errors
- On Wii, fixed the pause feature so that it resumes the audio tracks immediately. Previously, it could take up to 700 ms for the audio to begin when you paused and then resumed audio
- Fixed a problem in the front-end tools, where filenames in a list file had to be less than 128 characters long

Lagarith is a lossless video codec intended for editing and archiving. Lagarith offers
better compression than codecs like Huffyuv, Alparysoft, and CorePNG. There are a few lossless codecs that can compress better than Lagarith,
such as MSU and FFV1; however Lagarith tends to be faster and stabler than these codecs. Lagarith is able to operate in several colorspaces -
RGB24, RGB32, RGBA, YUY2, and YV12. For DVD video, the compression is typically only 10-30% better than Huffyuv.

FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec, an audio format similar to MP3, but lossless,
meaning that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to how Zip works, except with FLAC you will get much
better compression because it is designed specifically for audio, and you can play back compressed FLAC files in your favorite player (or
your car or home stereo, see supported devices) just like you would an MP3 file.
FLAC stands out as the fastest and most widely supported lossless audio codec, and the only one that at once is non-proprietary, is
unencumbered by patents, has an open-source reference implementation, has a well documented format and API, and has several other
independent implementations.

SIF is a universal video codec of a new generation. It is integrated into the operational system,
which allows its use in any program for editing and viewing video. In compression, a new compression algorithm that has no analogs and
our own original psychovisual model adaptive to local image fragments are used. This codec is optimized for efficient compression of
video of a high and average resolution, which results in a high quality of images at a bit rate lower than 1 megabits in compression
of 720x576 DVD video.
Description of codec settings.
Quantization level is the main parameter. Its increase leads to a higher level of image compression. As the quantization level decreases,
the image quality increases and eventually becomes lossless (to be more exact, nearly lossless) if this parameter is set to zero. Of note, the
SIF1 codec is not suited for this regime and will become slow and less efficient than specialized lossless codecs.
Сolor quantization scaling defines the ratio between quantization levels for brightness and color image components. An increase in this
parameter leads to a higher quantization level for the color components relative the brightness ones.
If this parameter is set to maximum, the quantization level of color components becomes three times as high as the current quantization level
of brightness components.
Additional quantizer. While an increase in the level of the main quantizer reduces the quantity of the remaining image details, the level
of the additional quantizer determines the accuracy of transmission of the remaining details. A higher level results in a coarser transmission.
The additional quantizer exerts a much weaker influence on the final image compression degree than the main quantizer.
Maximum I-frame interval is the maximum distance between two neighboring key frames. The codec is able to automatically detect the scene
change and insert the key frames where necessary.

HC Encoder (Official WEB site)
is a freeware MPEG-2 encoder. It offers quality comparable to commercial alternatives and the development has a strong focus on DVD compliancy.
Core features of HC Encoder:

Стала доступна пятая версия программного пакета Unreal Media Server.
Он является полноценным программным решением и содержит в себе все необходимые компоненты для работы с потоковыми медиа данными.

Unreal Media Server - это потоковый сервер, который поддерживает
тансляцию в сеть как мультимедийных файловых форматов, так и живого аудио-видео, производя их кодирование в реальном времени.
Поддерживаются следующие форматы файлов, совместимые с Microsoft DirectX: AVI, MPEG-1 (VCD), MPEG-2 (SVCD, DVD), MPEG-4, MPA, WMV, WMA, ASF,
MP3, QuickTime (version 2 and lower). Поддержка других форматов файлов и компрессоров сводится к дополнительной исталляции необходимых компонентов,
таких как Ogg, DivX, XVid, VP6, Apple mp4, AC3, h.264
Поддерживаемые типы файлов: AVI (DivX, XVid, и другие кодеки), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPA, WMV, WMA, ASF, MP3, QuickTime (версии 2 и старше).
Поддерживаемые живые источники: WEB камеры, цифровые и аналоговые камеры, микрофоны, аналоговые видео источники ТВ тюнера.
При "живой" трансляции видео поток кодируется в формат MPEG-4, а аудио MPEG Layer-3 или GSM 6.10.
Unreal Media Server - это полностью бесплатный продукт. Вы имеете право свободно распоряжаться им используя в коммерческих
или некоммерческих целях, если только это не нарушает никаких законов. Текущая бесплатная версия имеет ограничение в 15 одновременных
подключений.
Версия 5.0 состоит из трёх самостоятельных компонентов требующих наличия в системе установленных драйверов
Microsoft
DirectX версии 8.x или поздних.

- Live video "Snapshot" function in the player; Live Config may allow or prohibit it per live source
- "Local preview" option in Live Server – the player can directly connect to Live Server only if player and live server run on the same computer

- ActiveX control default appearance is without the flowbar
- Properties window in the ActiveX control show codecs information
- "Recently played resources" dialog box added to Streaming Media Player
- Two streaming delivery modes for live sources: Near Real Time and Buffered
- Full Screen mode can be toggled with left mouse doubleclick
- Optional display of playback status text on the video window
- Limit concurrent connections per each authenticated user and per all anonymous users
- Delegate live broadcasts - server-to-server live streaming capability
- Improved TV-tuners audio support
- Windows Media codecs support for live audio / video sources
- Support for hardware appliances - streaming hardware compressed content without software transcoding

Установив его вы получите медиа сервер на своём ПК. Для доступа к медиапотокам через сети общего пользования, ваш компьютер
должен иметь доступный IP адрес. Для вещания в пределах локальной сети, общий IP адрес не требуется. Самыми соответствующими
платформами для Media Server являются Microsoft Windows 2000 Server и 2003 Server. Также рекомендовано запустить
